The Red Wing Area Fund began its work in 1979. A few friends thought there would be a place in our community for a privately-led effort to initiate projects that were too risky for tax dollars or too large for individuals. These friends formed the RWAF to carry that enthusiasm into their beloved hometown of Red Wing, Minnesota. The board today has changed but the enthusiasm and devotion remains the same. We believe Red Wing is a better place due to our founders’ dreams and we hope to carry on their legacy for years to come.
